Kathua, (CNI): J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua apprehended 01 Habitual Criminal/ Notorious Bovine Smuggler involved in various criminal/ bovine smuggling activities (i.e against whom various FIR ‘s registered within Kathua District, J&K) and booked under Public Safety Act 1978( PSA).
On dated 27/05/2025 Police team of PS Lakhanpur led by SHO PS Lakhanpur Insp. Tribhawan Khajuria under the supervision of Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS & DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Ritesh Samyal apprehended one Habitual Criminal/ Notorious Bovine Smuggler namely Abdul Gani S/O Noor Ahmed R/O Maggar Khad Tehsil & Distt Kathua. The said person is a notorious bovine smuggler and habitual/recidivist offender. No. of FIRs registered against him in different Police Stations of Kathua District are :

- FIR No. 106/2013 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act of PS Lakhanpur,
- FIR No. 03/2014 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act off PS Lakhanpur,
- FIR No.11/2020 U/S 307/279/427/186 IPC of PS Lakhanpur,
- FIR No. 68/2017 u/S 188 RPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Kathua,
- FIR No. 40/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act of PS Kathua,
- FIR No. 132/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act of PS Kathua.
- FIR No. 66/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act of PS Rajbagh have been registered against him.
In order to prevent the illegal activities within the district, “Dossier” was prepared against the accused person and sent to the District Magistrate Kathua for his detention under Public Safety Act- 1978 (PSA). Accordingly District Magistrate Kathua issued a detention warrant against the accused person under the Public Safety Act 1978. Accordingly, the warrant has been executed today and he has been lodged in Central Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu to curtail his illegal activities.
