Ramallah: According to Palestinian and Israeli media reports, an exchange of fire in the West Bank city of Tulkarm resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians and the injury of one Israeli soldier.

Ameen Khader, the director of Tulkarm Hospital, reported on Sunday that Osaid Abu Ali, 21, and Abdul Rahaman Abu Daghash, 32, were killed after Israeli soldiers who stormed Noor Shams Refugee Camp shot them in the head with live bullets.

Israeli security personnel raided the Noor Shams refugee camp to arrest Palestinians on their wanted list after a shootout with Palestinian rebels, according to Palestinian security officials who spoke to the Xinhua news agency.

According to local eyewitnesses, the Israeli soldiers demolished several of the camp’s streets, destroying infrastructure and property.

In a statement, Palestinian armed factions in the camp claimed that their fighters engaged Israeli soldiers in violent and brutal combat and set off homemade explosives inside Israeli vehicles, inflicting deaths on Israeli soldiers and causing damage to their vehicles.

An Israeli soldier was “moderately wounded” during a security raid on the Palestinian refugee camp, according to a press release from the Israeli Army.

It added that Israeli Army forces, engineering, police, and members of the General Security Service (Shin Bet) participated in the security operation in the Noor Shams camp.
