Shopian : Nearly 200 quintal of sub-standard fertilizer by the Agriculture Department’s law enforcement agency and Pesticides Association on Tuesday at Sugoo village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Sources told News Agency Current News of India (CNI) that the inspection – which was led by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal – was conducted after receiving credible inputs regarding the sub standard fertilizers and unauthorized sale and black marketing of it in Shopian.
It said that about 200 quintal of sub standard fertilizer were seized during the inspection.
After the recovery of the huge quantity of sub standard fertilizer that was being used, the Director Agriculture commended the joint efforts put to confiscate the poor quality material.
He assured that a strict action under the law shall be initiated against such people found involved in the use of sub standard fertilizers, the statement added.(CNI) Current News of India
