Kulgam : With its “decisive” war against drugs, Kulgam Police have registered 212 FIRs against the drug peddlers across the district within 12 month.
As per official reports, Kulgam police have arrested 265 so-called peddlers of the big drug mafia to a large scale and registered 212FIRs against them.
As Per News Agency Current News of India (CNI) the statement reads that on the directions of higher authorities, of Police has already launched a drive against the drug mafia as many people in Kulgam complained that a youth gang was found involved in it, on which the Kulgam police stepped in swiftly. SSP Kulgam Sahil Saringal said that they have registered 212 FIRs in a 12 months and 265 arrested peddlers and this campaign will continue till Kulgam Police makes the mission drugs free Kulgam successful.
“The district had gained notoriety over the past few years. However, Police have also fought a war against it and they have been successful. I appeal people to cooperate with the police and pay the ransom in full so that we can rid Kulgam of all the infamous and unscrupulous drug peddlers”, SSP added.
At the end of year contraband substances including;
Poppy Straw = 1156 Kgs
Cannabis = 375.7 Kgs
Charas = 14.7Kgs
Ghanja = 37.2 Kgs
Brown Sugar = 224 gram
Heroin = 291 gram
Codeine = 309 Bottles and
Alprazom Tablet = 330 Tablets
Spasmo Proxy Ven Plus = 320 Capsules
Clonazepam = 18 Strips
Tramadol = 07 Strips recovered and 10 drug peddlers have been booked under PIT NDPS Act/ PSA, and 23 vehicles have also been seized
Citizens of the district have showed utmost faith and satisfaction in the action of police against drugs, and they have expressed their total support to the police.
General People of the district are requested to come forward with the information of drug peddling in their areas or call on cell no 7051510660 (PCR Kulgam)/Dial 112 (identification will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of strong Police Public relationship.
Meanwhile, Civic action programmes was held in overall district Kulgam, on the occasion, distribution of study materials and school uniforms to needy poor students of for flung areas under cap 2022,23 was held.(CNI) Current News of India
