Jammu : Ahead of upcoming academic year 2024-25 that is about to start in the month of March-April, Jammu and Kashmir Border Area development Conference, a registered organization that is working for the welfare of border residents has urged the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Vice Chancellors of all the universities in J & K to set up district level students counseling and facilitation centres so that aspiring students are able to understand the procedure to get admission in different government and private college and universities. The organization has stated that last year, 1000s of students from Jammu and Kashmir remained in state of confusion due to the negligence of the universities and the government and many of them had to go to other states for appearing in CUET(Common university entrance test).

Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of BADC and former Vice Chancellor in his submission to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha requested him to esure that the students of J & K and especially those who belong to border and far flung district of J & K do not suffer to get admission in next higher class (after 10+2). He urged the LG and Chief Secretary of J & K to establish district level students counseling and facilitation centres so that they make a prompt choice in selection of the course, college and university according to their academic background.

Dr Shazad also asked the aspiring students and their parents to remain cautious and select the courses and institutions after due diligence and avoid last minute rush and haste.CNI
