Srinagar : the Commissioner SMC, Dr.Owais Ahmed (IAS), conducted an extensive tour of various parts of Srinagar City to oversee the ongoing Snow Clearance measures and Dewatering operations.

During the tour, Commissioner,SMC inspected the progress of snow clearance activities in the city, ensuring that the roads/lanes/Bylanes/pathways/walkways etc. are being cleared effectively to ensure smooth and safe movement for the commuters. Commissioner also assessed the deployment of resources and the coordination among the teams involved in the snow clearance efforts.

In addition to snow clearance, the Commissioner also visits various permanent dewatering stations across the Srinagar City to evaluate their operational status. These pump stations play a crucial role in dewatering waterlogged areas during snowmelt and rain, especially in low lying Areas. Commissioner reviewed the functionality and maintenance of these stations to ensure their readiness to handle any potential storm water-related challenges.

Expressing his satisfaction with the efforts being put forth by the SMC, the Commissioner also urged residents to cooperate with the SMC by following necessary precautions during adverse weather conditions.
