Sarmad Hafeez presides over Mega Public Darbar at Town Hall Kupwara, e- inaugurates 3 developmental projects

Kupwara : Administrative Secretary, Youth service and Sports Department, Sarmad Hafeez on Friday presided over a Mega Public Darbar at Town Hall Kupwara to take stock of public grievances and development activities. He e- inaugurated three developmental projects on the occasion.

 

The Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori, The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, DDC Member Drugmulla, Adv. Amina , ADDC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, ADC Kupwara, Muhammad Rouf Rehman, District Officers, other representatives and a large number of People of various areas attended the Mega Public-Outreach programme.

 

Presiding over the Public Darbar, Sarmad Hafeez said that he was encouraged to see the Development and progress in Kupwara district under command of vibrant and dynamic Deputy Commissioner , Ms. Ayushi Sudan and her dedicated team of Officers.

 

Sarmad Hafeez said “having served at Kupwara as DC in 2012, I have special connections and attachments with people of Kupwara district”.

 

While highlighting the importance of the Public Darbar, Sarmad Hafeez said Public out-reach programs act as a bridge between the administration and the people, where highest level government functionaries come to the people at their door steps and connect with them and see their grievances and try to resolve them.

 

He further said that LG’s initiative of bringing administration to the door-steps of people aimed at making government services more accessible and convenient for people by enhancing transparency, efficiency and citizen engagement with the government.

 

He added that there are around 1200 digital services provided by the government to citizens which empower people by providing them with convenient access to essential resources, information and support while enhancing the efficiency and transparency of government operations.

 

While highlighting the role of community, Sarmad Hafeez said that as a community we have to understand our responsibilities. By understanding and fulfilling these responsibilities we can contribute to building stronger, more cohesive communities, where everyone has the opportunities to thrive and succeed.

 

He assured that more funding will be raised for Galizoo sports stadium and other playgrounds of Kupwara district.

 

He urged youth to take advantage of different self employment schemes of the government.

 

Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Pandithpori on the occasion, thanked for enhancement of remuneration of Rehbr-e Khel (ReKs) and demanded the funds for sports infrastructure in the district, so that infrastructure is developed.

 

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara ­, Ms. Ayushi Sudan Speaking on the occasion, said that this is the third mega public Darbar in the district, The significance of such out-reach programmes is bridging gaps between government and people for better policy formulation and implementation through constructive interaction.

 

DC urged the people to make the event fruitful and constructive by giving feedback regarding grievances and developmental issues. She said people of Kupwara are very cooperative and always share their valuable inputs and feedback regarding implementation of Welfare Schemes.

 

Earlier, elaborating on the developmental profile of the district, DC said that Kupwara district has a tough hilly terrain. District has received heavy snowfall recently, some high altitude areas are yet to be opened for vehicular movement due to snow avalanche threats.

 

She further said that Kupwara district is an Aspirational district and two of its blocks Keran and Machil are Aspirational blocks.

 

Vice Chairman, District development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir, while welcoming the visit of Administrative Secretary to Kupwara hoped that sports infrastructure of Kupwara district will receive good attention from the administrative secretary. The Vice Chairman demanded more snow cutter machines and other infrastructure for the Mechanical division.

 

During the event, three infrastructure developmental projects were e-inaugurated in presence of DDC Chairman, Deputy Commissioner, Vice Chairman and DDC Member Drugmulla which included Construction of Science Lab with Computer room at Haril Handwara, Health Centre at Shahlal and Improvement of road by way of R/Walls at Haihma.

 

The people on the occasion expressed their gratitude to the District Administration for organizing public outreach programmes and said that such programs provide them an opportunity to voice their grievances and developmental issues to expedite the resolution through the appropriate channels.CNI
