DC Budgam kick starts pulse polio immunization campaign in Budgam

Budgam, March 03: The Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Akshay Labroo today launched National pulse polio immunization programme in Budgam.
The campaign was kick started at Chief Medical Officer’s office where DC administer Polio drops to children.
Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Dr Mohammad Ayoub, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Budgam, Dr Iqbal and other senior medicos were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that children between 0-5 years of age shall be given vaccination in the district.
He said that 628 pulse polio booths have been established in the district to ensure no eligible child is left out.
The DC also said that house to house survey shall be carried out by the health missionaries and survey at transit locations to ensure all children are giving vaccination.
He appealed all parents to ensure all children between the target age group of 0-5 years of age are given polio drops and immunized.
Medical Officer Budgam Dr Mohd Ayoub said that under Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in District Budgam, for this purpose 2609 manpower which included Health Workers, ASHA workers, ICDS workers and voluntaries are being deployed at 628 Booths including 07 transit teams.(CNI) Current News of India
