Srinagar, (CNI): The Jammu and Kashmir Samagra Shiksha has asked the School Education Department to ensure adequate number of schools in the blocks where a school is selected for ‘PM Shri Schools’ in the first and second phase. Has not been done.
PM Shri School is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India with the objective of establishing over 14,500 PMSRI schools, supervised by the Central Government, State or UT Governments, local bodies. As well as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
According to the news agency Current News of India, CNI Nodal Officer JK Samagra Shiksha said in a letter to the School Education Department that the cabinet has approved centrally sponsored PMSRI (PM Schools for Rising India) in 2022. ) has sanctioned the scheme which aims to develop further. Over 14,500 schools across India with comprehensive interventions to promote change in equity, access, quality and inclusion.
The first and second phase of the election process through the transparent challenge procedure has already been completed.
“A total number of 233 schools during the first phase and 156 schools during the second phase of selection were selected as PM Shri Schools in Jammu and Kashmir UT”.
The official statement further said that the third phase of the selection process will be conducted through a transparent challenge procedure in which schools will self-apply through an online portal.
“A pool of eligible schools has already been identified by the Ministry of Education based on minimum benchmarks based on UDISE + data,” it reads.
The nodal officer added that such schools would compete in a challenge mechanism to fulfill certain criteria, and their fulfillment would be verified through inspection by the concerned district-level selection committee.
“Further, it is requested to ensure that the blocks where no school has been selected in the first and second stage, to compete in the challenge procedure during the third stage of selection. Ensure that the coverage of PM Shree scheme is maximized. J&K,” Samagra Shiksha told the directors of school education of both the regions.
According to the official announcement, the third phase of the election process will start from 15.04.2024. “Selection of PM SHRI schools is a time-bound process and needs to be completed within a specified timeline.”
Samagra Shiksha accordingly requested that the Chief Education Officers of both the divisions be directed to issue further necessary instructions to the HOLS of the benchmark schools—(CNI).
