Srinagar, May 21, 2024 : Prominent Socio,Political Activist And Sr Trade Union Leader Mohammad Altaf Dar expresses his concern over the aftermath of the 2014 floods in Jammu and Kashmir left the region’s infrastructure in a state of disrepair, severely impacting the lives of thousands. Among the most affected areas was the Kursu Bund Road via Mehjoor Nagar Bridge (Bund),a critical route for connectivity and transportation.

 

Mohammad Altaf Dar, a prominent leader and advocate for regional development, has underscored the urgent need for comprehensive infrastructure repair in these key areas. “The 2014 deluge was a disaster of unprecedented proportions, leaving our region divided and our infrastructure crippled,” said Altaf Dar. “Restoring Kursu Bund Road Via Mehjoor Nagar Bridge (Bund) is essential not only for reconnecting our communities but also for revitalizing our economy and ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.”

 

The severe damage to Kursu Bund Road Via Mehjoor Nagar Bridge has resulted in prolonged hardships, including restricted access to essential services, economic disruptions, and increased travel times. Despite various efforts over the years, the full restoration of this infrastructure remains incomplete, hampering the region’s recovery and growth.

 

Mohammad Altaf Dar (Rajbagh) calls on Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha ji, government authorities, stakeholders, and the community to prioritize and expedite the repair and reconstruction efforts. “We need a coordinated approach and sufficient funding to rebuild our infrastructure to withstand future challenges and to promote sustainable development,” he emphasized.
