Today, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, marking the triumph of our brave soldiers over Pakistani intruders on July 26, 1999. After a 60-day war, our troops reclaimed the Indian side of the LOC, defeating Operation Badr and foiling Pakistan’s plan to cut off Ladakh from Kashmir.
We pay our respects to the 527 soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, including Capt. Manoj Pandey, Capt. Vikram Batra, and Capt. Keishing Clifford, who were awarded the Param Vir Chakra and Mahavir Chakra posthumously.
Let us salute their valour and remember their sacrifices. Shat Shat Naman to our heroes!
