Rijiju Lauds Hazratbal Development, Pledges Support for J&K Waqf Board

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs & Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, paid a visit to the revered Dargah Hazratbal today to offer prayers and review ongoing development works at the shrine. He was accompanied by Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board.

Addressing the media, Rijiju praised the transformation of Sufi shrines across Jammu & Kashmir under Dr. Andrabi’s leadership. “The J&K Waqf Board’s development initiatives at Hazratbal and other shrines are commendable and can serve as a model for religious sites across India,” he remarked. Rijiju, who also chairs the Central Waqf Council, assured full support in strengthening the Board’s efforts.

On Haj arrangements, the minister highlighted that additional medical staff have been deployed in Saudi Arabia to ensure the well-being of pilgrims amid rising temperatures.

Dr. Andrabi expressed gratitude for Rijiju’s visit, briefing him on key projects undertaken by the Board to enhance facilities at Hazratbal and other scared sites.(CNI)
