Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmad Rana today informed that providing portable drinking water to every household in Jammu and Kashmir is a project of national importance covered under Jal Jeevan Mission.

He was replying to several queries raised by legislators today in the ongoing Assembly session.

The Minister also gave physical and financial status of different Water Supply Schemes being executed under JJM, UT CAPEX and AMRUT and the steps taken for their early completion.

He said that Omar Abdullah led government is duty bound to provide safe drinking water to every household and several measures are being taken in this direction.
