The 5th Battalion of the Rajput Regiment marked its glorious 200th anniversary celebrations with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony and an interaction with veterans at Pargwal. The event was graced by Maj Gen S.S. Jakhar (Retired) and Col Dahiya, who paid tribute to the regimentโ€™s rich history and sacrifices.

A key highlight of the commemoration was the remembrance of Late Captain Sanjeev Dahiya, a gallant officer who made the supreme sacrifice during Operation Vijay in 1999. In his honour, wreaths were laid, and prayers were offered as a mark of gratitude for his valour and dedication to the nation.

During the interaction with veterans, the senior officers engaged with ex-servicemen and war heroes, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the nation. The discussions reflected on the legacy of 5 RAJPUT, its distinguished service at Pargwal Sector during Op Vijay, Op Rakshak and Op Parakram between 1999-2003 and its continued commitment to upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

The event reaffirmed the battalionโ€™s enduring legacy of courage, sacrifice, and service to the nation. The event concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the ethos and honour of 5 RAJPUT.
