JAMMU, (CNI): Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today asserted that the Congress era has come to an end in India, as the people have overwhelmingly rejected its outdated politics.
Addressing media persons after chairing a crucial meeting at the Party Headquarters in Jammu, Kavinder said that the Congress party, which once held a central position in the nation’s political landscape, is now reduced to a crumbling entity marked by internal discord, lack of vision, and diminishing public trust.
Kavinder criticized the recent statement made by the newly appointed AICC general secretary and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir, who accused the BJP of vendetta politics. He termed these allegations as desperate attempts by a party that has lost its political foothold to remain relevant. “It’s both ironic and laughable that a party entangled in internal factionalism and leadership confusion is attempting to lecture others on democratic values,” he remarked. He further emphasized that the Congress should introspect on its repeated electoral failures and acknowledge the growing disconnect it has with the people.
Kavinder highlighted that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-led government has ushered in an era of transparency, accountability, and fast-paced development. “Unlike the Congress, which thrived on dynastic politics and appeasement, the BJP is focused on empowering the common citizen and delivering good governance. Our commitment is towards nation-building and not settling political scores,” he asserted.
The senior BJP leader also underscored the party’s initiatives in strengthening grassroots democracy, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out that Panchayat and DDC elections were successfully held in the region, which had long been neglected by successive Congress regimes. “It was the BJP that brought the people of J&K into the mainstream democratic process and gave them a voice in governance,” he stated.
Kavinder emphasized that the people of India have moved beyond the politics of entitlement and now aspire for progress, opportunity, and decisive leadership. “The BJP represents the new aspirations of India. The Congress era is over, and the future belongs to a stronger, self-reliant, and empowered nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi,” he added. CNI
