May ,CNI:- A special felicitation ceremony was held today at Higher Secondary School Bugam, Kulgam, to honor exceptional academic achievers. The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of students, with the spotlight on Sehrish Jahangir, a 12th-grade student from the institution. Sehrish was recognized for securing the 2nd position in the Science stream across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. G. N. Itoo, the Director of School Education, Kashmir, who personally felicitated Sehrish for her outstanding performance. Dr. Itoo also extended his congratulations to the students, their parents, and teachers for their dedication and success in the Class 10th and 12th examinations, the results of which were recently declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE).
In his address, Dr. Itoo highlighted the Department of Education’s efforts to modernize the education system, particularly emphasizing the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He noted the establishment of ICT laboratories as a key initiative to enhance the learning environment. He further stated that aligning the education system with the contemporary demands of the world remains a top priority for the state government.
The Chief Education Officer of Kulgam, Mohammad Shabir, welcomed the Director and expressed that his visit had significantly boosted the morale of successful students, teachers, and education officers across the district. He also provided an overview of the educational progress in the district, assuring that educational services are being improved in line with the Director’s guidance.
Dr. Itoo continued to commend the hard work of both the students and the faculty, stressing that quality education, dedication, and consistent effort are crucial in shaping the future of the region.
The event concluded with heartfelt applause and recognition of the young achievers, with Sehrish Jahangir being hailed as an inspiration for her peers and juniors.(CNI)
