Bandipora,(CNI)After a gap of 35 years, the traditional Hindu festival Sumbali Mawas was celebrated with religious fervor at the Nand Kishore Temple in Sumbal.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, visited the temple to participate in the celebrations and to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

During his visit, the DC interacted with members of the local Pandit community, who expressed immense joy at the revival of this significant religious tradition.

Community members highlighted the spiritual importance of Sumbali Mawas, noting that its observance after more than three decades symbolizes not only a revival of heritage but also a strengthening of cultural unity in the region.

The celebrations included special prayers and rituals dedicated to Nand Kishore Maharaj, marking a spiritually uplifting moment for the devotees.

While interacting with the devotees, Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad Qadri stated that the administration is committed to promoting communal harmony and ensuring that such festivals are celebrated with dignity and full support.(CNI)
