In a noteworthy act of corporate philanthropy under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, Quazigund Expressway Pvt. Ltd. and Athaang Jammu Udhampur Highway Pvt. Ltd. have jointly extended substantial infrastructure support to Sainik School Nagrota. The contributions include an Automatic Chapatti Making Machine, a Tractor with Trolley, and a dedicated Ambulance, symbolizing a strong public-private partnership aimed at youth welfare and national development.
The ceremonial handing-over event took place on 31 May 2025 at the school campus. The assets were formally presented by Mr. Vamshidhar.M, Vice President, Athaang and his team of officials to Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota. The event was witnessed by cadets, staff, and senior officials from both organizations.
The proposal for this support was initiated by the Principal underscoring the operational, welfare, and strategic need for these resources and with an objective of Cadet Welfare and Safety, Operational Readiness and Community Benefit.
The ambulance will significantly enhance the school’s emergency medical response capability for its over 500 resident cadets, especially during physical training, sports, field exercises and any kind of emergency. The tractor and trolley will support campus logistics, grounds maintenance, and environmental initiatives such as waste management and afforestation.
The infrastructure benefits extend beyond cadets to staff, visitors, and support personnel, ensuring a more responsive and efficient campus environment. The additions reinforce the school’s commitment to discipline, safety, and mission-oriented preparedness.
Addressing the gathering, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia expressed heartfelt gratitude to both companies, stating, “This generous support from Quazigund Expressway and Athaang Jammu Udhampur Highway Pvt. Ltd. reflects the true spirit of nation-building. These assets will directly contribute to nurturing disciplined, responsible, and future-ready leaders of the Armed Forces.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a high tea session, commemorating this meaningful collaboration.
