JAMMU, (CNI): Bhagat Amar Nath and Jagan Nath Charitable Trust paid tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Ji on his 55th Balidan Diwas on Sunday at Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Samark Park, Jammu.
Surinder Bhagat Chairman Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath Charitable trust Vikram randhawa ji MLA Mohan lal bhagat ji MLA krishan lal bhagat ji MLA Yudhvir sethi ji MLA , Anil Masoom Corporator, guest apprised that Shaheed Bhagat dedicated his life for social cause exclusively for downtrodden people of J&K. He further elaborated that during 1970 there was a great resentment among Dalits Samaj for denial of reservation rights by unjust and hostile state government, despite been implemented for SC, ST, ex-serviceman, handicap in central services and in all other states after the Constitution of India came into force on Jan 26, 1950 with great efforts of Baba Sahib Dr B.R Ambedkar.
He said Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath took very serious and comprehensive note of the malafide intention of the state government and intensified his non-stop agitation in entire Jammu province and when his demand was not accepted he took an extreme step and sat on fast unto death on may 21, 1970 at Amarnath Samark park in front of civil secretariat and achieved martyrdom on June 1, 1970 and become martyr for reservation.The Charitable trust paid tribute every year from last many years in which Rashpal digra ji,Adv Rajan bhagat ji LD gorkha ji,Bansilal Choudhary ji,Mohan lal pawar ji, Bachan lal ji, Gurmeet Dutta ji, Bilal Choudhary ji are the Trust members.(CNI)
