Pulwama, (CNI) In a significant development within the Indian Police Service, IPS officer PD Nitya, currently serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, has been transferred to the Rajasthan cadre.

This move comes under the Indian Police Service (Cadre) Rules, which allow for inter-cadre transfers on specific grounds, including marriage.

PD Nitya, a 2016 batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, has previously held various key positions, including Superintendent of Police in Leh and Jammu (North). Her tenure in Pulwama was marked by a strong commitment to combating insurgency and promoting community safety.

She emphasized the importance of women’s participation in policing and took a firm stand against drug abuse in the region.–(CNI)
