Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a heartwarming and energetic welcome during his first official visit to Trinidad and Tobago on July 4. As soon as he landed in Port of Spain, he was greeted with a traditional Bhojpuri Chautaal performance a musical style deeply rooted in Indian culture, especially from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
PM Modi was clearly moved by the vibrant welcome and took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his joy. He wrote, “A cultural connect like no other!”, highlighting the deep-rooted bond between India and Trinidad & Tobago.
In another post, he praised the Indian community in the Caribbean nation, saying, “Many Indians came here years ago and have made amazing contributions to the country. What’s even more special is that they’ve kept Indian culture alive!”
The visit turned emotional and cultural, as PM Modi met with members of the Indian diaspora, calling their welcome unforgettable. From Bhojpuri songs to proud cultural connections this visit celebrated the unity between hearts across oceans!
