US President Donald Trump is celebrating what he’s calling the “One Big Beautiful Bill”, a major legislative victory that he says checks off nearly every box from his 2024 campaign promises with bold tax cuts, strong border security, and major support for America’s farmers.
“There could be no better birthday present for America than the One Big Beautiful Bill,” Trump declared to an enthusiastic crowd, as the bill passed just in time for Independence Day. “This bill delivers the strongest border on Earth, the strongest economy on Earth, the strongest military on Earth.”
The bill holds special meaning for rural voters, especially in states like Iowa, where Trump has a strong support base. “Very importantly for Iowa, this bill rescues over 2 million family farms from the so-called estate tax, or the Death Tax,” he said, drawing cheers.
Framing it as a patriotic turning point and a campaign promise fulfilled, Trump said the measure secures every major pledge he made to Iowa voters in the 2024 race.
“With this bill, every major promise I made to the people of Iowa in 2024 became a promise kept,” he said. “America is on a winning streak like, frankly, nobody has ever seen before.”

Trump’s newly passed tax and spending package officially named the “Big Beautiful Bill” is a massive legislative overhaul focused on cementing his 2024 platform. The bill aims to permanently extend the 2017 tax cuts, boost military and energy funding, and strengthen border security while also cutting back on social welfare programs.
A headline feature of the bill is a $350 billion border and national security plan, including:
- $46 billion to expand the US-Mexico border wall
- $45 billion for 100,000 migrant detention beds
- Funding to hire 10,000 new ICE officers, each offered a $10,000 signing bonus
Trump says this bill isn’t just a policy win it’s a symbol of American strength, independence, and the beginning of what he calls “America’s greatest comeback.”
