Jammu: BJP senior leader and spokesperson Dr. Tahir Chowdhary has warmly hailed Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha for what he termed a “bold, humane, and long-overdue step” towards justice for the families of terrorism victims in Jammu and Kashmir.
After LG Sinha handed over government job appointment letters to several next of kin (NoKs) of terror victims in Baramulla, Dr. Chowdhary said, “This initiative reflects the resolve of PM Modi’s leadership to undo decades of neglect and pain suffered by thousands of innocent civilians targeted by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”
Dr. Chowdhary commended LG Sinha for directly engaging with the victims’ families, listening to their grievances, and delivering justice. He said the emotional gestures by the L-G — including breaking protocol to bow before mothers and console daughters — showed “true statesmanship and empathy beyond politics.”
“For decades, the cries of terror victims went unheard. Today, the Modi government and the J&K administration are giving them not just jobs, but dignity, acknowledgment, and closure,” Dr. Chowdhary said.
The BJP leader further noted that the move to set up district-level helplines for registering pending cases from the 1990s and ensuring compensation, land rights, and FIRs is a “historic shift in governance from indifference to compassion.”
Dr. Chowdhary also backed LG Sinha’s strong remarks against those trying to glorify terrorism in the name of free speech.
“The Constitution protects expression, but not propaganda that supports bloodshed. The era of silence in the face of terror is over,” he said.
He praised the PM and LG for restoring public faith in the administration and called on all political parties to rise above vote-bank politics and support the cause of justice for terror-affected families.
“This is New Kashmir under the leadership of PM Modi — where the truth is acknowledged, and justice is delivered at the doorstep of the last man standing,” Dr. Chowdhary said.
