Srinagar, cni : The Anantnag district transport authorities have intensified road safety enforcement, issuing over one thousand challans and seizing 44 vehicles during multiple naka drives carried out till mid

July of this year.According to official data shared by ARTO office as per news agency reads, a total of 51 naka checkpoints were established by the enforcement teams in various parts of the district while 1452 challans were issued.Data stated that 44 vehicles were seized during multiple naka

drives carried out from January 25 to July 15, 2025. While 8 DL vehicles were cancelled or booked.These actions were part of a broader initiative to ensure road discipline and safety compliance among drivers and transport

operators.In addition to challans and vehicle seizures, the office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag also reported the cancellation or blocking of 8 driving licences. However, no transport permits were cancelled during the period under review.

The cumulative amount of fines collected through these enforcement actions stood at ₹16,72,890, data stated.Officials said the drives will continue to target violations such as overloading, lack of fitness, non-functional
