Ganderbal, :(CNI) In a major crackdown against traffic violations, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Ganderbal, under the directions of the Worthy Transport Commissioner J&K, launched an extensive enforcement drive across the district on Friday.
During the drive, more than 350 vehicles were checked, and 67 vehicles were e-challaned for violating traffic laws. The violations included 41 cases of driving without speed limit devices, 11 for not wearing seat belts, 8 for overloading passengers, 2 for riding without helmets, 1 for driving without valid insurance, and 4 other miscellaneous violations.
Officials stated that the expected penalty collection from these violations is estimated at ₹1.05 lakh, reflecting the administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward traffic law defaulters.
In a stern move, the enforcement team also **seized 25 driving licenses, 4 route permits, and 1 registration certificate for suspension or cancellation.
ARTO Ganderbal affirmed that such strict drives will continue across the district to curb rash driving, enforce traffic discipline, and ensure public safety.(CNI)
