Poonch, July 21: One student was killed and four others sustained injuries when rocks fell on a school building in the Banch area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch confirmed the incident and said that the injured students were rushed to a nearby health facility for treatment.

The condition of at least one among the injured is said to be critical.Preliminary reports suggest that the rocks rolled down from a nearby hill and struck the school during class hours, triggering panic among students and staff.

Authorities have reached the spot to assess the situation.Meanwhile, the school has been closed in the interest of the students and staff.
