Leh, July 26 : Newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, said on Saturday that the Union Territory administration is focused on creating employment opportunities and exploring Ladakh’s potential for film tourism.
Gupta said while speaking to reporters as per news agency JKNS, “The President, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister trusted me to send here. Since we know that Ladakh was made a Union Territory in 2019, it was to end discrimination. Now, to take care of it, we have made Hill Councils and many other organisations. New districts were made, and much work is happening. But since it is a unique area, there are many scopes and potentials.”
He added that the administration is working to generate jobs and promote Ladakh as a hub for film shootings. “We are trying to create jobs here. We are also trying to have film shootings here,” the LG said.
Gupta emphasised that the UT government will continue to focus on utilising Ladakh’s unique cultural and natural heritage to boost development and attract investment.
