SRINAGAR, (cni)Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdi on Sunday confirmed that #OperationMahadev is still underway in the upper reaches of Dachigam in Srinagar

district.Reports reaching to the news agency cni) that IGP Birdi said, “As per the initial reports, three bodies have been observed and seem to be neutralised. It will take us some time for proper identification as the terrain is difficult and the search teams are still inside the area.

“The operation, jointly launched by security forces based on intelligence inputs, aims to neutralize militant presence in the forested region. So far, significant recoveries including 17 rifle grenades have been made from the encounter site.

The identity and affiliation of the slain militants will be confirmed after the area is fully sanitized and bodies are retrieved. More updates are expected as the operation progresses.(cni)
