Jammu:cni As part of its outreach and youth engagement initiatives, the Indian Army organized an inspiring motivational lecture on Women Empowerment, Career Opportunities, and Evolving Innovation Requirements in the Indian Army at IIT, Jammu on 02 August 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 students and faculty.

The session was led by Col Meenal Chauhan in uniform, who shared personal stories of resilience, leadership and service. They highlighted the evolving role of women in the Indian Armed Forces—ranging from combat support roles to opportunities in engineering, cyber operations and strategic leadership. The audience was briefed on various entry schemes for women, including the National Defence Academy (NDA), Short Service Commission (SSC) and Technical Entry routes.

Additionally, the session focused on the Indian Army’s growing emphasis on technological innovation, artificial intelligence, and robotics as critical areas where youth especially women can contribute meaningfully to national security.

The lecture aimed to empower young minds with knowledge, instil confidence and encourage participation in nation-building through a career in the Armed Forces.
