Food Safety Ganderbal seizes and destroys 300 kgs frozen chicken Kabab and momos

Ganderbal, cni: War against unhygienic and unreliable meat products in Ganderbal continues as the officials from food safety department led by Food Safety Officer Sheikh Abbas on Sunday conducted surprise inspection at Beehama, Fatehpora, Manigam and Benhama areas of the district.

The team found satisfactory Food business operations being carried out at most places but recovered a huge quantity of unhygienic frozen chicken Kabab and momos from a FBO at Benhama in Lar jurisdiction. All the seized food stuff that was said to be of weight around 250kg worth 1.5 lakh rupess was then properly disposed off at the MCG dumping site Shallabugh.

Meanwhile, the inspection team also raided Raj Palace Beehama, the place from where huge quantity of rista, kabab, goshtab, tabak maaz, shami Kabab etc were seized a day before, was directed to stop it’s food business operations with immediate effect till further order. According to the officials, the directions were given to rule out the possibilities of any residual meat products being used and served to the consumers.

FSO Ganderbal has further reiterated that the government is taking all measures to ensure public of getting fresh, healthy and hygienic food products, especially the mutton and chicken products. He said FBOs need to introspect and understand the responsibility that lies on them as the service providers of the Food products that really matter for the human health.  Cni
