Reasi//In a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s bravehearts, the NCC and NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi organised a students-curated display on the eve of Independence Day, showcasing the inspiring stories of unsung heroes from both local and national levels who laid down their lives in various encounters and wars.
The exhibition, thoughtfully designed by the students, featured photographs, biographical sketches, and accounts of lesser-known martyrs whose courage and patriotism have often remained unrecognised in mainstream narratives. It aimed to instil a sense of pride, gratitude, and responsibility among the youth.The event was organised by Mr. Rakesh Kumar (Associate NCC Officer) in collaboration with Prof. Baldev Singh (NSS Programme Officer).
Speaking on the occasion, they emphasised the importance of remembering and honouring those whose selfless sacrifices form the bedrock of the nation’s freedom and security.The programme was graced by the presence of distinguished faculty members — Prof. Irfan Ali, Dr. Omar Habib, Prof. Pooja Dheman, and Prof. Rahil Dutta — who lauded the initiative as a meaningful way to engage students with the nation’s history and heritage.
