Truth Cannot Be Buried Under Hollow Rhetoric: A Strong Rebuttal to Mehbooba Mufti by Kashmiri Pandit Conference : Kundan Kashmiri

The latest statement by Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party, reeks of political hypocrisy, selective memory, and moral bankruptcy. To hear lectures on secularism, pluralism, and the so-called “two-nation theory” from a leader whose politics thrived on religious appeasement is not only ironic,it is deeply offensive to the victim Displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
Mehbooba Mufti speaks of “fear” and “dangerous precedents,” but she remains criminally silent on the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced exile of Kashmiri Pandits, who were driven out of Kashmir in 1990 under the very ecosystem of terror, separatism, and Islamist hegemony that she and her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed legitimised through political opportunism. Who created fear? Who normalised militants as “boys”? Who destroyed Kashmir’s composite culture by surrendering the writ of the state to gun-wielding extremists?
It is laughable that Mehbooba Mufti now invokes Mahatma Gandhi’s India while conveniently forgetting that Kashmiri Pandits India’s most ancient indigenous community were denied Gandhi’s ideals of safety, dignity, and justice. For 36 long years, we have lived as refugees in our own country, unheard, unseen, and uncompensated.
Her attempt to link administrative actions, such as issues surrounding Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College, to a fabricated narrative of religious persecution is nothing but fear-mongering. Dragging names like Omar Abdullah or Mamata Banerjee into this discourse is a desperate attempt to deflect attention from her own disastrous legacy.
Let us be absolutely clear: If today Jammu demands separate statehood and Kashmiri Pandits demand a separate, secure Separate Kashyap Bhoomi with Union Territory status,
it is not to validate any two-nation theory, but to correct a historic civilisational injustice. It is the Islamist majoritarianism in the Kashmir Valley, nurtured and protected by leaders like Mehbooba Mufti, that has already validated Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s poisonous ideology in practice, if not in words.
We, the victim Kashmiri Pandits, openly and unapologetically support:

1.Separate statehood for Jammu.

  1. A separate, secured one place settlement (Kashyap Bhoomi ) for Kashmiri Pandits.
3.Formal recognition of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.
  2. Grant of Indigenous Status to Kashmiri Pandits.
5.Full compensation for loss of lives, properties, temples, and livelihoods.
  3. Financial and institutional support for dignified rehabilitation at one place.

There will never be peace in Jammu & Kashmir until the victims are heard, justice is delivered, and historical crimes are acknowledged, not whitewashed by hollow sermons on secularism from those who presided over Kashmir’s collapse.
Mehbooba Mufti did not save Kashmir, she and her father destroyed it. And no amount of emotional blackmail or selective outrage can erase that truth.
