Jammu, cni : Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched an extended search operation across multiple border villages and sensitive areas in the Chenab Valley and along the Line of Control and International Border.Officials said the searches are being carried out in several parts of the Chenab Valley, including areas of Doda district such as Bhalla and locations near Bhaderwah. In Kishtwar district, security teams have intensified operations in regions like Paddar and Atholi, while similar search activities are underway in Ramban district.The operation has also been extended to border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, where villages located close to the Line of Control are being thoroughly checked. In addition, heightened security measures have been put in place in Akhnoor, particularly in areas near the Chenab river entry point towards Punjab, as well as along sensitive LoC crossing points including Tattapani and Mendhar.Police officials said the extended search operation is part of a broader security strategy to ensure peace and prevent any untoward incident ahead of Republic Day.Additional personnel have been deployed in vulnerable areas, and night patrols and area domination exercises have also been intensified.Authorities said the operations are precautionary in nature and aimed at strengthening the security grid in border and hinterland areas.
