The Bharatiya Janata Party organised a special programme in District Baramulla on Sunday to collectively listen to and discuss the Union Budget 2026–27 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. BJP workers, traders, members of civil society and common citizens participated and attentively followed the budget announcements.State BJP Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Senior BJP leader MM War and District President Baramulla Ghulam Hassan Dar were also present on the occasion.Welcoming the ₹43,290.29 crore allocation for Jammu and Kashmir, nearly ₹2,000 crore higher than last year, Manzoor Bhat described the budget as growth-oriented, people-centric and development-driven.He said the enhanced allocation will accelerate projects related to roads, healthcare, education, electricity, drinking water and urban infrastructure, while creating employment opportunities for local youth.“This increased allocation will bring visible change on the ground. Development works will progress faster and employment avenues will expand. Jammu and Kashmir is moving ahead on a strong development path due to sustained support from the Centre,” Bhat said.Highlighting the record ₹12.2 lakh crore capital expenditure, Bhat said the massive push for infrastructure and connectivity will strengthen economic activity and further integrate Jammu and Kashmir with the national growth story.Calling the Union Budget 2026–27 a balanced and forward-looking roadmap, the BJP reaffirmed its commitment to ensure effective implementation of all welfare and development schemes for the benefit of every section of society.
