Budget Session an Opportunity to Review Progress, Reaffirm Commitment to People: LG Manoj Sinha.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said the Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly holds special importance as it provides an opportunity to review the journey so far and outline priorities for the future.Addressing the House on the inaugural day of the Budget Session, LG Sinha, as per news agency CNI, said the session enables all stakeholders to assess past performance, deliberate on achievements and collectively chart a clear roadmap for the Union Territory.He observed that the proceedings also serve as a platform to renew the collective resolve towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.“For me, this occasion is not merely an exercise in accounting of resources or outcomes, but a reflection of our shared vision for a prosperous, inclusive and resilient Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor said.LG Sinha expressed gratitude to the people for their continued contribution to the transformation of the Union Territory and reiterated the administration’s commitment to work in the larger public interest.Meanwhile, the Legislative Assembly Secretariat has earlier called for maintaining utmost dignity, decency and decorum during the Lieutenant Governor’s address.The discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address will be held on February 3, 4 and 5, and will conclude with the Chief Minister’s reply on February 5.The Budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the financial year 2026–27 will be presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 6, followed by detailed discussions and presentation of demands for grants by various departments.
