DHARNA DRAMA BY NC TODAY BEFORE ASSEMBLY””Statehood or Power hood? National Conference Must Answer the People of Jammu & Kashmir

KPC” The MLAs and Ministers of the National Conference, the ruling party in Jammu & Kashmir staged Dharna and demonstration , raised slogans, demanding restoration of statehood, constitutional guarantees, and alleging harassment of Kashmiri Muslims outside J&K, is not only political Drama but absurd and morally hollow. This political party in power has actually failed to govern and fulfill the promises made with the people and hiding it’s own failures. Before shouting slogans, the National Conference must answer some uncomfortable but unavoidable questions. Why is the NC so desperate for statehood? What exactly do they want to reclaim governance for the people or unchecked political power for themselves? History tells us that whenever Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed statehood under NC regimes, it did not translate into peace, development, justice, or social harmony. Instead, those periods coincided with political patronage, institutional decay, unchecked separatism, and finally the tragic collapse of the social fabric that led to terrorism and the genocide-like exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.Let the NC explain honestly:What did statehood give to Jammu and Kashmir in the past ,employment or corruption? Stability or instability? Unity or deep communal and regional fractures?Today, even as a Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing faster infrastructure development, stronger administrative control by lt.governor , direct central funding, and tighter checks on corruption, realities the NC cannot digest because they threaten their old ecosystem of privilege and impunity. Their agitation is not about people’s welfare; it is about loss of political monopoly.Equally disturbing is NC’s selective outrage. They speak loudly about alleged harassment of Kashmiri Muslims outside J&K, but where was this moral voice when over four lakh Kashmiri Pandits were harassed, threatened, killed, and forced into exile from their own ancestors land ? Why has the NC remained criminally silent for 36 long years on the issues of justice, return, rehabilitation, security, and dignity of victim Kashmiri Pandits? Why no dharna and demonstration before Assembly for the thousands of Pandit families still living in camps and rented rooms? Why no slogans for those who lost homes, temples, land, livelihoods, and loved ones? Why no demand for accountability for the killers, collaborators, and enablers of terrorism? If the National Conference truly cares about constitutional guarantees, let it first guarantee the constitutional right to life, return, and dignity of Kashmiri Pandits ,a right that was brutally snatched under regimes they led or supported.Instead of political theatrics, the NC should focus on grave and unresolved issues: unemployment, drug abuse, regional imbalance, corruption, and above all, justice for victims of terrorism. Raising hollow slogans while sitting in power only exposes their hypocrisy and desperation. This protest is not an act of courage; it is an admission of irrelevance. The people of Jammu and Kashmir and especially the victim Kashmiri Pandit community are no longer fooled by emotional slogans and manufactured victimhood. History is watching, and it remembers very well who ruled, who failed, and who fled responsibility.
