Srinagar, cni  Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that multiple initiatives are currently underway for the revival, restoration and conservation of heritage sites at Parihaspora and Pattan.The Chief Minister said the government has prioritised the protection of historically significant locations, with structured efforts aimed at preserving the cultural and archaeological legacy of the region. He noted that heritage conservation was being pursued in coordination with national agencies and subject experts.According to the Chief Minister, major restoration and conservation interventions at Parihaspora, Pattan and Tappar are being undertaken by the Archaeological Survey of India. He said the works focus on safeguarding ancient remains, preventing further deterioration, and restoring the historical character of these sites.The Chief Minister’s Office later reiterated the statement in a post on X, stating that the Assembly was informed about the ongoing initiatives aimed at revival, restoration and long-term conservation of the heritage assets in these areas.Parihaspora, once a prominent ancient settlement, and Pattan, known for its historical significance, are considered vital to Kashmir’s cultural identity.
