Srinagar: Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif, who runs the Kashmir Weather channel, has been felicitated by Shri Rajiv Pandey, IPS, DIG Central Kashmir Range and recipient of the Medal for Gallantry, in recognition of his efforts in providing timely and accurate weather updates during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.

In a post on X, Faizan Arif expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying the weather information provided during the pilgrimage helped in planning daily operations and contributed to the safety and well-being of those associated with the Yatra.

“It is truly encouraging to know that the weather information shared was helpful in planning daily operations and, most importantly, in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone associated with the Yatra,” he wrote.

Arif said the recognition was deeply meaningful and would encourage him to continue contributing through accurate and timely weather information.

He described the felicitation as a memorable moment and expressed appreciation for the acknowledgement of his efforts in supporting the Yatra through weather updates.
