Blood Donation and Awareness Camp Organised by District Red Cross Society in Collaboration with NCC Unit of GDC Reasi

Reasi, CNI NEWS: The NCC Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi, in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society, Reasi, and District Hospital Reasi, organised a Blood Donation and Awareness Camp at District Hospital Reasi with the objective of promoting awareness about voluntary blood donation and highlighting its vital role in saving precious human lives.

The programme was organised under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Mamta Gupta and was graced by Additional District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Sh. Krishan Lal, JKAS, as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the efforts of the NCC Unit in motivating students and youth to participate in humanitarian and community-service activities.

A total of 70 NCC cadets actively participated in the awareness programme. During the camp, four NCC cadets, two Indian Army personnel and one member of a local NGO voluntarily donated blood, setting an inspiring example of social responsibility, compassion and service to society.

Rakesh Kumar, Physical Director, and ANO remained present throughout the programme along with the NCC cadets, encouraging and motivating them and boosting their morale.

The medical team from District Hospital Reasi sensitised the participants about the importance of regular and voluntary blood donation, eligibility criteria, health benefits associated with blood donation and the crucial role of blood donors in meeting emergency medical requirements.

The event reflected the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline” and encouraged young students to actively participate in community service and humanitarian initiatives.

The NCC Unit expressed its gratitude to the District Red Cross Society, District Hospital Reasi, and all the officials, medical staff, NCC officers and cadets for their valuable cooperation and support in making the camp successful.

The programme concluded with an appeal to the youth to come forward and donate blood voluntarily whenever eligible, thereby contributing to the noble cause of saving lives and serving humanity. CNI NEWS
