ISLAMABAD/ Pakistan , CNI NEWS: – Fifteen newborn babies were killed after a fire broke out in the children’s ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), a government hospital in Islamabad.According to hospital authorities, the incident occurred in the newborn care ward, resulting in the deaths of 15 infants.

PIMS Executive Director Imran Sikandar denied reports that the ward’s door had been left open or that adequate firefighting arrangements were unavailable. He said firefighting equipment was present in the ward.The hospital administration has maintained that the necessary safety arrangements were in place .
