Tariq khan cniJammu, (CNI NEWS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the National Dialogue on “Millets for Health: Building Healthy Ecosystems, Climate-Resilient Agriculture and Sustainable Food Systems” at SKUAST, Jammu.

The LG highlighted the nutritional, economic and environmental benefits of millets, describing them as an important crop for the future of Jammu Kashmir. He said millets require less water and fewer agricultural inputs, making them suitable for small and marginal farmers facing climate-related risks.Sinha urged farmers to adopt millet cultivation and called upon households to include millet-based foods in their diets.

He also stressed the role of women’s Self-Help Groups and young entrepreneurs in developing value-added millet products and strengthening the rural economy.He said the revival of millet cultivation would help promote healthier communities, stronger farmers, women’s empowerment and climate-resilient agriculture in Jammu Kashmir.
