Two TRF Militants Arrested , Arms And Ammunition Recovered In Baramulla

Police stated on Saturday that they had apprehended two militants from the TRF outfit, a branch of the LeT, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla area.

The police stated that on September 21, they learned from trustworthy sources that Yaseen Ahmad Shah, the son of Tariq Ahmad and a resident of Janbazpora, Baramulla, had left his house and joined the banned terrorist group LeT/TRF. As a result, a case was filed in Police Station Baramulla under the appropriate legal provisions, and an investigation was started.

The police statement added that a joint team of Baramulla Police, Army, and CAPF detained the abovementioned insurgent during MVCP checking at Tapper Pattan after receiving this information and acting on human and technical intelligence. He was found to be in possession of incriminating items, weapons, and ammunition, including a pistol, a pistol magazine, and eight live rounds.

He identified his other partner as Takiya Wagoora resident Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, son of Ali Mohd, during questioning. As a result, joint parties from the Baramulla Police, Army, and CAPF stormed his home and then detained him. Two hand grenades were also found in his hands following his disclosure, he said.

During the further course of interrogation of militant Mohd Yaseen Shah and on his disclosure, 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine & 8 live rounds were also recovered from his house at Janbazpora, he said.

It was so far revealed in the investigation that these 2 terrorists were operating on the directions from Pakistan based handlers and were planning to recruit more militants and carry out miitant activities in Baramulla and nearby areas. It is also reported that the investigation is at initial stage and more arrests and recoveries are expected.
