Srinagar: The president of the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-E-Sharia Shia organisation, Aga Syed Hassan Mosvi, has had his passport suspended by the government, alleging a “security threat” as the cause.

Aga Hassan had received notification from the Regional Passport Office Srinagar that his passport had been suspended in accordance with section 10(3XC) of the Passports Act 1967.

Aga Hassan told the reporters that he received the information that his passport had been suspended after more than a month had passed.

He claimed that he had applied for a new passport in advance of a trip to a foreign nation, but that today he learned that his passport had been suspended through a notice.
