Government Suspends 2 Police Officials With Immediate Effect

Srinagar:Two Jammu and Kashmir Police officers have been suspended by the government with immediate effect and sent to this ZPHQ.

The suspended officers also include DySP Adil Mushtaq and ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmad Khan.

“In terms of Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an inquiry into his conduct, Shri Gowhar Ahmad Khan, Addl. the Superintendent of Police Budgam, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect”, reads the order,

“It is further ordered that the Officer shall remain attached with Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, during the period of suspension”, reads the order further.

Similar to DySP Adil Mushtaq, the government declared that he be considered to be suspended with effect from September 21, 2023, the date of his arrest in a case involving the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

“In terms of Rule 31(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, Shri Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PID No. KPS155772, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21-09-2023 i.e the date of arrest of the Officer in case FIR No. 149/2023 under section 7, 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of IPC in Police Station Nowgam”, reads the order.
