Police in Budgam as part of their ongoing efforts to rid society of the drug threat, authorities today detained two drug dealers and retrieved psychotropic substances from their hands.

According to the reports, during Naka checking at Hatharan, the naka party intercepted a scooter with the registration number PB10G-1225 travelling from Hakermulla to Soibugh. The rider was carrying a polythene bag, and during the bag’s search, poppy straw (Fukki) weighing about 6 KG was found in his possession.

The scooter driver identified himself as Harjeet Singh, a Mayapur Ludhaina resident who currently lives in Srinagar and is the son of Swarn Singh.

In this context, a case has been filed under the applicable legal provisions.
