At a ceremony conducted in New Delhi on Thursday, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar received the esteemed “Excellence in Investigation” award.

The policeman who won the award at the Anti-Terrorism Conference at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi is well renowned for his investigative prowess and ability.

Balwal, an IPS officer from the Manipur cadre and a member of the 2012 batch, has worked in a variety of roles and has played a key role in solving a number of high-profile cases, including the militant attack in Pulwama that claimed the lives of over 40 members of the CRPF.

Notably, because to the current circumstances in the state, the officer was just prematurely deported to his home cadre of Manipur.
