According to authorities, Aqib Ahmed Renzu, a corporator for the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), was charged on Thursday with violating the strict Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to sources who spoke to the news agency, the action was initiated after his recent detention on suspicion of suspected sexual harassment.
Reliable sources claim that Aqib Ahmed Renzu, who was detained last week, was charged with sexual harassment, upsetting modesty, and online stalking under FIR No. 50/2023 and sections 354, 354A, and 354D of the Indian Penal Code.
Aqib Ahmed Renzu has been sent to the Kotibalwal jail in Jammu as a result of the special order, with reference number DMS-69-2023, being put into effect.
