Rajouri: Rajouri district in the Jammu region witnessed a sharp rise in militant-related incidents in the last two years.

As per data available with News Agency (CNI) Current News of India, eight militants, fourteen soldiers, and two civilians were killed in many anti-militancy operations in the last two years in Rajouri district.

On January 1, 2023, seven civilians of the minority community, including two minors, were safely evacuated and protected by security forces during a militant attack in village Dhangri in Rajouri district.

The security forces swiftly responded to the situation, killing two foreign militants responsible for the attack.

On May 5, 2023, five Army paracommandos lost their lives while successfully preventing a major disaster caused by an IED blast in Kandi, Rajouri.

Meanwhile, an official told News Agency Current News of India (CNI) that many militants were killed while attempting to infiltrate from across the border.
