By Kundan KashmiriCommunity Sevak & President, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC)Individual policing, mob-like actions, self-styled moral custodianship, and muscleman-like activities and taking law in own hands must be curbed and stopped immediately. While
witnessing the most unfortunate and distasteful acts of humiliation within our community from long time—particularly over the past week—it becomes my moral and collective responsibility, as a Sevak of the community, to speak out with absolute clarity and conviction.Any dishonesty,
misappropriation, or malpractice in temple committees, trusts, or KP organizations must never be tolerated. Such actions must be thoroughly investigated and dealt with through proper legal procedures as guaranteed by the
Constitution of India. Those found guilty must be brought to justice and face the strictest punitive action. However, we must also take a strong stand against individual policing, mob-like actions, and self-styled moral policing. When a handful of individuals take law into their own hands in the name of activism, they not only violate democratic values but also human values,
undermine the very unity and credibility of our community. This behavior fuels chaos, emboldens disruptors, and tarnishes the image of our collective struggle. To preserve the dignity, transparency, and sanctity of our religious and social institutions, both financial wrongdoing and unauthorized vigilantism must be dealt with
firmly and swiftly. No individual or group has the right to exploit religious platforms for personal gain or to use social media as a tool for abuse, defamation, or baseless accusations. The rising trend of slander, vulgarity, and character assassination on platforms like YouTube and
WhatsApp is deeply alarming. Throwing around labels like “thief” or “corrupt” etc. without legal evidence is not only irresponsible—it is dangerous and destructive and punishable. If these dual threats—corruption in management and character lynching in the name of activism—
are not addressed immediately then legal action to be initiated at the earliest. If such things would continue to prevail in the community, I would suggest and propose that all religious properties, temples, and trusts be taken over by the State Government for transparent oversight, regular
audits, and lawful governance and abusers, loud mouths creating confusion and chaos in community to be punished. Let truth prevail through legal mechanisms, not mob or individual verdicts. Let law do its own work.At the same time, those who spread lies, indulge in false
propaganda, or poison public discourse must be held accountable—both legally and morally. The community must rise against this culture of noise and negativity and restore civility and discipline in public behavior, as it has defined community to the large extent particularly through the
communication on social media.Let us pledge, as a responsible community, to uphold truth, transparency, justice, and unity. Let us trust facts over fiction, and law over anarchy. Let us condemn the wrong—but only through lawful, respectful, and dignified means.”NEITHER
CORRUPTION & DISHONESTY NOR INDIVIDUAL POLICING AND SELF-STYLED MORAL CUSTODIANSHIP WILL BE TOLERATED BY COMMUNITY”With sincerity and commitment,Kundan KashmiriPresident, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) & Community SevakEmail: kundankashmiri@gmail.comMobile: 8802167955
