Srinagar, April 16, 2024: Prominent Socio Political Activist And Sr Trade Union Leader Mohammad Altaf Dar express concern over a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Gandabal, Soietang, Batwara, Srinagar, as a shikara boat carrying individuals tragically sank in the Jhelum river. The passengers, including students, residents, and workers, were left with no choice but to use the boat due to the prolonged delay in the completion of a bridge as the authorities have been claiming development after the revocation of article 370 but there is no visibility of development done.
Renowned socio-political activist and senior trade leader, Mohammad Altaf Dar, expressed profound sorrow over the devastating incident, highlighting the urgent need for swift action. He urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and accused be booked and expedite the construction of the bridge to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
